About Pest Managers

Pest Managers has been solving pest problems in Cape Town since 2016. In that time our technicians have handled around 2,500 jobs a year across the city, from single-bedroom flats in the City Bowl to warehouses out on the West Coast. We are a registered pest control company, and every technician holds a Pest Control Operator registration under Act 36 of 1947.

Pest Managers was founded by Adriaan Jordaan in 2016. Adriaan had already spent 5 years in the pest control trade before starting the company.

He still takes a hands-on role in the business today, and much of how we work, inspecting before we treat and using no more product than a job needs, comes directly from him.

A decade of pest control in Cape Town

Ten years in one city teaches you things a manual can’t. We know how Cape Town’s wet winters push rodents into warm ceilings, how the dry summer months bring ants and cockroaches indoors looking for water, and why older blocks of flats hold German cockroach problems that a quick spray never touches. That kind of local knowledge is the difference between treating a room and clearing a problem.

Around 2,500 properties come through our books every year, residential and commercial. That volume means there are very few situations we haven’t seen before, and it’s why we can usually tell you what you’re dealing with, and what it will take to sort out, from the first inspection.

Registered, and accountable for the work

Pest control in South Africa is regulated, and for good reason. The products used to control pests are controlled substances, and applying them safely inside an occupied home or a working kitchen takes training rather than guesswork.

Every Pest Managers technician holds a valid Pest Control Operator (PCO) registration under Act 36 of 1947, the national legislation governing pest control remedies and their use. In practice it means the person treating your property is qualified to choose the right product, apply it at the correct rate, and advise you on staying safe afterwards.

How we approach a pest problem

Our approach is simple: find the source, treat it properly, and use no more product than the job needs.

The pest you can see is usually a symptom of something you can’t. Rodents in a ceiling found their way in somewhere. Ants on a kitchen counter are trailing back to a nest. We inspect before we treat, because a treatment only holds if it reaches the cause rather than the sign of it.

That same thinking shapes the environmental side of the work. We favour targeted, low-toxicity treatments applied precisely, rather than blanket-spraying a whole property. Using less product in the right place is better for your household, your pets and the surroundings, and in most cases it does a better job of clearing the problem too.

A small team that stays with the job

Pest Managers is a close-knit, family-run team, and we prefer it that way. It means the person who takes your call, the technician who inspects your property, and the company standing behind the guarantee are all part of the same outfit. Nothing falls through the gap between a call centre and a subcontractor.

A good deal of our work comes from customers who call us back, or who pass our number on to a neighbour. Those long-standing relationships matter to us more than any single job, and they’re the reason we would rather do a treatment properly than quickly.

What you can expect

We keep the commercial side straightforward. Residential treatments start from R650, with the final price depending on the pest, the size of the property, how far the problem has spread, and what the treatment requires. We quote after an inspection rather than guessing over the phone, and that inspection is free, with no obligation to go ahead.

Every treatment is backed by our service guarantee. If pest activity continues within the treatment period and you’ve followed the advice we gave you, we come back and deal with it. Guarantee periods vary by pest species, treatment type, environmental conditions and the severity of the infestation, and your technician will explain exactly what applies to your job before any work starts.

Where we work

We cover Cape Town and the surrounding regions: the Northern Suburbs, Southern Suburbs, Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl, West Coast and Blouberg, and out to the Helderberg. From Melkbosstrand in the north down to Gordon’s Bay in the east, if you’re in the greater Cape Town area, we can reach you.
