The German Wasp
The size of German wasps ranges from 15 to 40 mm. A yellow and black pattern is visible on the abdomen and back of the wasp. Black antennae are characteristic of the German wasp. It is common for this species of wasp to become very aggressive when something is in close proximity to its nest. As far as nesting habitats are concerned, German wasps prefer soil.
The European Paper Wasp
European paper wasps range in size from 20 to 35 mm. There is a yellow and black pattern on the abdomen and back of the wasp. An orange antenna is a characteristic feature of the European wasp. Most European wasp attacks occur when one of them has been killed and its pheromones have been released to trigger an attack. European wasps nest in gutters, under eaves, arches of tiles, and trees, to name a few.
